Tucker Strickland

Director of International Development. Tucker has been working in the non-profit sector for over 13 years. He held the position of Regional Country Coordinator, South America, for Hope Church Missions Department from 2004-2008.

During his tenure at Hope Church he oversaw both the design and funding of a five-story school and daycare facility. Tucker also coordinated and mobilized hundreds of medical personnel who treated thousands of students in and around Quito, Ecuador. He also participated in the start-up of Dinner on Demand, a fundraising tool that has raised over one million dollars to support Hope’s multiple outreach programs.

Tucker's international humanitarian work has taken him to Ecuador, Mexico, Bangladesh, Spain, Argentina, Jordan, and Iraq. Upon his departure from Hope, Tucker co-founded the Freedom Development Fund. This fund was created and implemented to engage in a counter-insurgency effort that provided capital and technical training to encourage farmers to return to tomato production in the Kurdish region of Iraq. The fund raised 3.7 million dollars to purchase a tomato-processing plant to ensure that those farming participants had a sustainable distribution channel in a very volatile market.

Tucker co-founded Green Urban Growers and was Director of Farm Management for GUG’s demonstration farm in Memphis, TN. GUG produced and distributed thousands of pounds of produce to local restaurants in Memphis, including Deli Mexicana and Fuel Café.
